.. -=- Replacement for Wildfire -=- # ReWild: Replacement for Wildfire ## Background Wildfire was a freely-distributable educationally-focused disease spread simulator developed by Neptunesys for the 16-bit Windows platform ([archived website](https://web.archive.org/web/20040226190524/http://members.aol.com/kissseries/)). While a mirrored copy is still available from [here](http://rwindward.tripod.com/files.html), potentially useful if you have a 16-bit or 32-bit (that is, not 64-bit) Windows system to run it on, it seems no longer to be developed or maintained, and support for 16-bit apps is ever declining as 64-bit is effectively the standard nowadays. This niche is filled by ReWild; I've pulled it from Tumblr now but it is still included below. I originally wrote it to supply to my biology teachers at the time, who wished to still use the demonstration. After some reluctance, I have finally opted to fold it into the repertoire of things I'm signing off with the [HarJIT moniker](fifthkings.html). It is written in JavaScript as a DHTML applet, and hence should work on any system with a decent browser (although no guarantees). HTML5 support is not required, but is used when available. ## ReWild .. html-script:: :src: https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/Chart.js/2.7.1/Chart.min.js .. html-figure:: :class: rewildcontfigure .. html-div:: :id: rewild .. html-script:: :src: https://harjit.moe/rewildjs/rewild.js .. :: .. html-a:: :href: /weblabels.html :rel: jslicense JavaScript licences .. ignored
